Canasta

Canasta is a card game of the Rummy family played with two decks of cards, including four jokers. It is typically played by four players in two partnerships, but variations exist for two or three players.

Objective

The main objective of Canasta is to form melds of seven cards of the same rank, known as a "canasta." Players score points by creating melds and canasta, while also trying to deplete their hand of cards.

Basic Rules

• Setup: Each player is dealt 11 cards, and the remaining cards form the draw pile. The top card of the draw pile is turned over to start the discard pile.

• Gameplay: Players take turns drawing a card from either the draw pile or the discard pile, then laying down melds or discarding a card.
